April 2021 - September 2021

Hey, y'all!  Much has changed from last year's April post to this year's April post.  A big difference is Brooke's teeth as she's lost a good number of her baby teeth!  She's looking more grown up by the day.  Brooke went from attending school just a couple days a week to four basically half days to being in school five days a week for 6 hours.  She has excelled in her literacy assessments as she's now reading on a 4th-5th grade level.

We have enjoyed doing after school with several friends from her school.  It's been fun to see them all play together during breaks.  One day we pulled out the water slide and it is a memory that they still talk about!

Summer like last year was filled with so much fun and also some tears! Before summer camp, we spent the entire week on vacation at Massanutten.  The water park was amazing!  Brooke spent a lot of time in the wave pool.  Then Brooke spent 7 weeks at summer camp.  She was a master LEGO builder for her teams!  After several weeks, she got comfortable with going underwater in the shallow end and learning how to swim.  By the end of camp, she finally jumped in the deep end (with her puddle jumper).  She also learned how to ride her bike!  We enjoyed the Children's Museum this summer seeing our special friends!

After summer camp we said "see y'all later" to some close friends from church as they have moved away for work or relocated for military service.  This was the first time Brooke has experienced the transient nature of NOVA.

This fall as kicked off with our first ever Fred Nats game!  Brooke started American Heritage Girls this fall.  And two hours on most Thursday nights do not seem like enough as she talks about what she's learning through the weekend and is excited to go back with her friends.

Hope you both are doing well.  We pray for you both each week.

Love,

Jeff, Jenny & Emmalyn Brooke
