EMMALYN BROOKE

September flew by before we knew it.  Emmalyn Brooke took two trips to visit family, and she had her 5th baby shower.

 

We spent Labor Day with mom's family.  Her Papaw and GG were so excited to see her again.  They could not wait to introduce her to everyone at church.  She even got to go on the stage when Papaw, the pastor, showed her off to everyone!  They even came to our house a few days later to visit with her again.  Her cousins were so excited to play with her, and they, along with her aunts and uncles, are anxiously awaiting the next visit.

 

The trip to Pittsburgh was for the baby shower that her Auntie planned just for her.  It was the best shower!  She had about 30 family members come to see her.  She received several gifts including gift cards, books, clothes, and she has a few things to hang in her nursery.

 

Brooke loves to watch football, especially on TV.  We spend Saturday mornings at dad's flag football games, and Sunday afternoons watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with Great Grandpap.  She has her own "Terrible Towel" and special football leggings.  Mom watches more of Brooke than the game.

 

Emmalyn Brooke has started smiling a lot more over the last several weeks.  She also has an adorable belly laugh.  Thumb sucking is something she tries to sneak when no one is watching.  We have even caught her sucking both thumbs at the same time.  She is not a fan of tummy time, but she is doing a great job with holding her head up.  Her new favorite seat is in her Baby Einstein Exersaucer.  Although she needs a couple of blankets to help her stay upright, she loves chatting with Mr. Penguin.

 

Mom was able to resign from her job as a paralegal to stay home full-time with Brooke.  All three of us are excited about that!  We spend our days clipping coupons and searching for the best deals of the week.

 

We are so excited for fall and anticipating winter.  We've already planned some things for October, November, and December.  We will have plenty of pictures to share!
