October 2018 - March 2019

Emmalyn Brooke was not soooo excited to find out she was going to be in the Monkey Class instead of the Butterfly Class this year.  For some reason, she had made up her mind that she would be put in the Butterfly Class!  Although she wasn't too happy about it, she has absolutely loved her Monkey Class.  She's even brought home, Timbo, the class stuffed animal twice.  During his second visit, he made brownies and went to church with us.

We have worked on several crafts at home such as making homemade play-doh, decorating pumpkins, drawing on mugs, baking cupcakes, making a nativity with wooden blocks & glue, and using our imagination to make things like a pink road for her truck.

We've gone to the park several times, played in the leaves in the front yard, read books at the library and went to King Dominion for Winterfest.  Of course her Christmas begins at Thanksgiving and ends with family visiting in January.  One of her favorite gifts was her new Minnie Mouse costume. We went to a baby shower for our friends that recently had twins.  Santa Claus showed up and she actually sat on his lap this year!! Her little personality really showed this year in her preschool Christmas play.  We had a big NYE party with mom's family coming in town to ring in the new year.  We decorated cupcakes, made a huge banner, and created our own photo booth.

Two of her favorite places is the local bank and Chick-fil-A.  The bank tellers know that she will only accept green lollipops.  The cashier at Chick-fil-A, who also goes to church with us, gives her special treatment with hugs and free cookies!

Ralph Breaks the Internet was a cute movie.  We were one of maybe three families in the theatre.  Dad & Brooke enjoyed the movie while Mom took a $13 nap.

She still loves her books, arts & crafts and going to school, but she REALLY loves watching t.v. with ALL of her stuffed animals.  She wants to read so badly she can hardly stand it.  She likes to really think about words and the sounds they make. Scrabble letters have helped her learn to spell her entire name!

There have been several special days at school like Fall Days, Pajama Day and Crazy Dress Day.

Brookie and mom had 10 days together while dad was in Israel.  He finally received his camera two and a half weeks after he returned.  During those 10 days, we had dinner with several friends and family members, and mom was crazy enough to let her have a sleep over with her best friend.

The biggest changes have been losing her 2 bottom front teeth.  She lost one while visiting a friend of mom and dad's in the hospital.  She went to show them her loose teeth, walked over to sit on mom's lap, turned around and handed mom her tooth!  We were so shocked.  The 2nd tooth was pulled by mom the next day because it was BARELY hanging on.  The Tooth Fairy came two nights in a row!  And just last week, she got her first big girl haircut for school pictures.  We are still waiting to get those back from the photographer.

Fall and Winter were pretty busy and action packed.  It's hard to believe she will be starting Kindergarten in just a few short months!!

We continue to pray for you both! We always look forward to our visits, and we will see you in July for her FIFTH birthday!! Can you believe it???

Love,

Jeff, Jenny & Emmalyn Brooke
