October 2016 - March 2017

Emmalyn Brooke has changed so much since our last update.  It almost brings tears to our eyes.  She is losing her baby face and turning into a big girl.  It is crazy to think that she will be three years old in a few months.

In the fall, we went to Treats in the Streets in downtown Fredericksburg.  As you can see, she dressed up as Doc McStuffins.  She already had the entire outfit in her room.  She also went on her 1st date.  Daddy took her to Daddy-Daughter Date Night at Chick-fil-a.  They had dinner together and went on a horse and buggy ride with one of her new church friends and her dad.  She talks about it, saying, "Mommy, you not go!  Just me and Daddy!"  We also went to Richmond for her to cheer on daddy in the Virginia State Flag Football Tournament.  It was fun, but pretty cold on those metal bleachers!  She was yelling on the sidelines, "You gotta get him!".  It is funny hearing her repeat what she hears from the guys on the sidelines!  She also made it into the yearly team picture.

The holidays were busy, busy! Brooke received her first doll house, her first telescope, a pink guitar, a basketball & hoop and several other gifts.  Santa Claus brought her a Daniel Tiger trolley, a Leap Start, a Hello Kitty robe and Chase from Paw Patrol.

It finally snowed in January!  Building a snowman was nearly impossible, but we had a great time making snow angels and eating snow cream!

Adjusting to a full size bed has been interesting.  She doesn't like change very much.  Although she does try to sneak and jump on it any chance she can get. It is much more comfortable for mom and dad when it is time for bedtime prayers and reading.

Cooking dinner is a favorite evening activity.  She has helped make pork chops, french toast, and homemade spaghetti sauce.  She does not have a problem scooting the kitchen chairs so she can be a part of the process.  She still loves to go outside to play on her playground, draw with sidewalk chalk and use her Crayola airbrush set.

September will bring the biggest adventure so far. Preschool here we come!  As long as we can get potty training down by then.  She has improved quite a bit in the last few weeks, and she has the entire spring and summer to get it.

Hope you both are doing well! We are praying for y'all, and we will see you in July!

Love,

Jeff, Jenny & Emmalyn Brooke
