April 2018 - September 2018
The Spring and Summer were filled with all sorts of activities, emotions, good times and hard times.

With a heavy heart, we want to let you know that both Papaw and GG (Jenny's parents) unexpectedly passed away in the spring. In March we received a phone call regarding Jenny's mom, who peacefully went to take a nap and did not wake up this side of Heaven. In May, we received another phone call that Papaw experienced an aneurysm on a Saturday morning in May. We wanted to tell you at our last reunion visit, but we did not want to take a way from the joy of seeing Brooke for her birthday.

Now for happier news...
Since the last update, we did a little traveling. We went to South Carolina for a few days in April to visit some of Jenny's family. Brooke was able to play with her Great Aunt Shirley and show her the flamingo she brought. We also went to Pennsylvania in August for Jeff's family reunion. We had our first camping trip in a RV that seemed to go well, but for some reason, we did not take one picture of it. (If you ever want to try camping in a RV, we recommend RVShare.com...we rented the RV for 2 nights and it was amazing. Think, AirBnB for camping.)

Brooke was also able to take a trip to King Dominion with her dad, aunt and cousins. She had a blast and still talks about Snoopy's World and the water park. She did NOT like Lucy's Tug Boat, and the ride that goes up and down.(I'm not sure what the ride is called.) We also went to the Children's Museum in Fredericksburg where she learned about grocery shopping and the dentist. Did you see those huge teeth in the pictures??

Two of her favorite things are still reading and anything artsy. She loves painting, especially her nails, playing dress up, anything with mermaids, unicorns & rainbows. We have recently discovered Fancy Nancy at the library, and with perfect timing, she now has a show on Disney.

She was pretty sad that her "vest vestie" moved to Arizona in the summer, but she has made some new friends at preschool this year. She's already talking non-stop about 2 boys in her class. The second week of school, she was the line leader, which meant she was allowed to bring Timbo, the class monkey, home for the weekend. She gave him a tour around her room, showed him how to bake cupcakes, took him out to dinner in downtown Fredericksburg and took him to church.
We are praying for you both! We always look forward to our visits, and we will see you in January.

Love,
Jeff, Jenny & Emmalyn Brooke
