EMMALYN BROOKE

Emmalyn Brooke is such a joy.  She loves to do things independently to show everyone, "I can do it." Her speech has improved so much in the last several months, and she is even putting sentences together. Her hair is growing like crazy, and she's already had her bangs trimmed twice.  We were a little sad with that first haircut.  She went from being a baby to a little girl in a matter of minutes.

Brooke loves the outdoors, and we try to spend a good part of the day outside, when possible.  We were given a used playground from a friend of the family, and it has been remodeled to match our house.  She loves to swing, climb the ladder, speed down the slide and draw with her sidewalk chalk.  She is starting to show an interest in soccer, and she loves to kick the ball around the yard and yell "Look at me!" or use it as a pillow and pretend to take a nap in the yard.

We have done quite a bit of traveling the last several months.  We went to a wedding in Florida, spent a week in the mountains, flew to Germany for 10 days and should be heading to Pennsylvania in August. She had a great time on the beach in Florida, playing in the sand and putting her feet in the water.  We have an amazing little traveler.  She did great on all of the airplane rides.  We colored, watched movies and played with window clings.  The trip to Germany also included a layover in Amsterdam, a train ride to the Bavarian Alps, a drive through a small part of Austria, and a day in Metz, France.  We visited several castles, went for a horse carriage ride and ate all kinds of delicious food!  She even learned to speak a little German and Italian.

The next week will be filled with cake, ice cream and birthday celebrations that include Peppa Pig!  We look forward to seeing you both on Saturday!!
