January - March 2016
Emmalyn Brooke is growing more and more everyday. She loves to chat, sing, color, read and put on her shoes all by herself. It is amazing how quickly she picks up on things. Her favorite pair of shoes are hot pink crocs, and she walks around saying "crocs, crocs".
In January, she had a great time in swim lessons, had a few visitors from Pittsburgh, and kept mama on her toes. She is running all over the place, and loves to play in her kitchen. It is so cute to see her pour pretend water from the refrigerator door.
We also enjoyed a few days in the snow. She loved her snowman and gave him a kiss just before we went inside to warm up.
In February, she received a huge Valentine's package from her Grandpap that included all kinds of things, especially candy. Dad ate the majority of the good stuff. Her favorites were the ring pops and smarties.
We had a friend visiting from Germany in March. Brooke was spoiled with all kinds of things from Germany, Paris, Belguim, and Rome. A couple of week ago, we went to an Easter Egg Hunt at the local park. She had a blast picking up the eggs to put in her bucket and returning them before picking up her special prize. Mom and Dad were excited about the Chick-fil-A gift card, Brooke loved her blue stuffed monkey. We had another egg hunt at her great-grandparents house the day before Easter. There was even a hunt at church on Sunday. By then, she was a pro! Getting a picture of her Easter dress was a little harder though since she was tired and didn't want to look at the camera. Mom tricked her by playing knock, knock on the glass doors at church. It may not be the best picture, but she still looked adorable!
Brooke is repeating all kinds of words these days.
She loves to sing, especially songs with motions. We've also been playing outside more since the weather has been so nice. We are constantly blowing bubbles and drawing with sidewalk chalk. When we come inside, we are either coloring, playing with play doh, watching Peppa Pig or pretending to be Doc McStuffins.
Hope you both are doing well and enjoying the beautiful Spring weather!
Love,
Jeff, Jenny & Emmalyn Brooke
