January - March 2015

Thank you for coming to visit us back in January.  We hope you are doing well, and we continue to pray for you both regularly!

We started the new year with an eight week swimming class.  Emmalyn Brooke absolutely loved being in the water.  If we arrived a little early to her lesson, she was very eager to get in the pool.  She was very alert and watching everyone splash around while she patiently waited for her turn.  She received her very first Certificate of Participation for completing the course.  Too bad there wasn't one for perfect attendance because she totatlly would have earned that one too!

Emmalyn Brooke has also started eating solids.  She used to love Rice Cereal until she experienced food with flavor.  We use organic fruits and vegetables that we steam and freeze in ice cube trays.  Some of her favorites are sweet potatoes, peas, butternut squash, avocado, mango, apples and pears.  She isn't a huge fan of carrots, but they may have been a little chunky.  We are going to try those again and probably mix them with something else.

She and Ginger seem to be getting along very well.  She has even learned the sign for dog.  We are still working on milk, more, and eat.

For Valentine's Day her dad gave her a sweet card with a bottle of bubbles and a pink elephant named Kiki.  She also received several other packages in the mail that included clothes, stuffed animals and a new Steelers outfit.  St. Patrick's Day was pretty low key.  Just a few wardrobe changes.

Brooke also enjoyed her first Snow Day.  We had a hard time getting the snow to stick together for a regular snowman, so we improvised.  You will notice in the pictures that we drew one on the ground instead.  For Christmas, we she was given a snowman set that includes the scarf, hat, carrot nose, etc.  Since we had the gear, we had to use it, but it was cold and we were ready to get back inside for a nice warm bottle!

Her next doctor's appointment is in a few weeks.  They just love her!  At her last appointment, there were four nurses in the room.  They just wanted to say hello to sweet Brooke.

We are looking forward to Easter Sunday.  Her dress is washed and hanging in her closet.  Our visit to see the Easter Bunny was pretty smooth although there were a few tears shed.  In her defense, the Easter Bunny does not look as friendly as Santa Claus!  However, we were able to get her to smile again, and she was fine in less than a minute.  They were all so cute we had to purchase the entire CD!

We added a new tab entitled "Professional Photos".  They include her newborn pictures, photos with Santa and all of the shots with the Easter Bunny.

I almost forgot!  Brooke has started standing on her own.  She looks like she wants to let go but is still a little unsure!  Things will get very interesting here in the next few weeks!

Hope you are enjoying the warmer weather.  We are excited for walks outside and hopefully a few trips to the pool.

Love,

Jeff, Jenny & Emmalyn Brooke
